Get ready for an unforgettable evening under the stars at Jubilee Square, Leicester, on Friday 21st July 2023. We're bringing you the ultimate outdoor cinematic experience with a screening of the classic Bollywood movie, Sholay!
Considered by many to be the greatest Bollywood film of all time, Sholay topped the Indian box office for 19 years after its release in 1975. Inspired by the spaghetti western genre in mainstream cinema, the film follows two criminals, ‘Jai’ and ‘Veeru’ (played by Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra) hired by a retired police officer (Sanjeev Kumar) to capture the ruthless dacoit ‘Gabbar Singh’ (Amjad Khan). Hema Malini and Jaya Bhaduri also star as ‘Basanti’ and ‘Radha’ respectively, the women who capture Jai and Veeru's hearts and appear in some of the most memorable scenes within the film!
Join us for a night of fun, food, and film as we transform the square into an open-air cinema.
The event will begin with a DJ set from Amrita Kalsi, with Nupur Arts performing live dance during the film. This will be an immersive experience that you don’t want to miss!
Desi street food and drinks will be available from Hot Potato Shop who have created a bespoke Sholay menu especially for the screening!
